Hey guys! Got a quick update for you all today!
First off, my next feature film, The Adventure Squad, has now entered principal photography! (…actually, we started filming a little over two weeks ago, but hey – better late than never.)
For those of you unfamiliar, the film is a horror comedy focusing around a teenage girl who reunites her friends to go on one last adventure in the woods, but ends up encountering the ghost of their dead friend in the process. Hilarity ensues.
Here are a few (raw, un-colored corrected) stills from the film as well!
In other news, She Dreams Elsewhere is progressing along nicely. The game was recently demoed at the 2017 Game Devs of Color Expo in New York City and was very well received! I’m extremely thankful for Brooklyn Gamery for having us (as well as their representation efforts in general), our demo operators, and for everyone who played the game.
I hope to have a lot more info, blog posts, and misc. other things to share with you guys about the game once Adventure Squad wraps up shooting.
In the meantime, for those of you who would like to get their hands on the game early, I still need playtesters and debuggers. If you’re interested, please fill out this form and I’ll get back to you soon.
Also, in somewhat related news – two days ago marked the three-year anniversary of when I finished my “Super Post-Mortem BLOWOUT” series, where I did a post-mortem of every game I created up to that point. At some point, I definitely plan on updating it and doing a Part V, most likely after She Dreams Elsewhere is released. We’ll see. Until then, feel free to take another look at it starting from Part I. I’d still love your feedback on it!
Well, sadly, that’s all for today. Directing a full-length film unfortunately takes a lot out of you and leaves little time for… well, everything.
…yeah, don’t get into filmmaking, folks. Unless you like endless suffering, that is.
Anyway, got any comments? Thoughts? Suggestions? Hate mail? Unsolicited love letters? Drop me a line – I’d love to hear your feedback. ‘Till next time, hope you guys have an awesome day/week/whatever!
